The Flute Academy Scholarships

Eligibility

Every 3 months, we offer a limited number of places for a full year in The Flute Academy at no cost, to flutists in certain countries and who are facing economic hardship.

Click here to view the list of developing countries. You can apply for a Flute Academy scholarship if you live in one of these countries.

Application requirements

The Flute Academy is not for total beginner flute players. To join the academy, it is recommended that you already have a flute, and can play to a reasonable level. This means, you can already play a few melodies and scales and know most of the notes. More advanced players will also obtain a huge benefit from the academy.

However, scholarships are not awarded for high skill-level. A successful application is based on need, commitment, and a strong desire to learn.

The application process involves you recording a short video of yourself playing a piece, and speaking about why you'd like to win a scholarship. The video can be up to 3 minutes long.

When do applications close?

Applications close on the last day of March, June, September and December each year. Scholarships will be awarded shortly after the deadline each quarter.
